ALDI’S 30TH BIRTHDAY

Films/Twitter/PSocial

It’s 2020. This means we’re celebrating our 30th ‘UK’ birthday. And when we say ‘we’ we mean we. Because – let’s be honest – nobody really cares. And why would they? We’re not their Nan. We’re not even that weird second-cousin whose birthday you were forced to go to by your mum. We’re a supermarket. And although we have a place in their lives – an important one at that – 5th April 1990 isn’t really that memorable for anyone. Yet.

a few tweets to get the party started.

we went out into social with some self-deprecating but humorous, tweetage. Hinting to all, (or at least those who actually read them) that it’s a certain someone’s birthday

just a bit of fun, but theN public started to play along.

we even turned some into moving tweets. i think they’re called igs’s

once we’d created enough of a storm we then decide to throw the second (fyre still wins) biggest party, never to happen, inviting all our brand buddies. it then kinda took off…

…and the rest is history
